Description
Junghans max bill Automatic
The max bill Automatic distils over six decades of Bauhaus-inspired watchmaking into a 38 mm polished steel case — a timepiece defined by deliberate restraint, uncompromising legibility, and the enduring design vision of Max Bill. Made for those who regard precision as a form of beauty.
Max Bill — architect, painter, and Bauhaus alumnus — believed a watch should be "as timeless as can be conceived without forgetting the time." His 1961 collaboration with Junghans produced one of horology's most iconic dials: a matte black surface bearing only slim stick indices, a fine minute track, and pencil-shaped hands. The 27/4701.02 honours this heritage faithfully — the polished stainless steel case carries a convex sapphire crystal that allows the time to be read from an angle, while the caseback bears the engraved Max Bill signature. Nothing has been added that does not serve the reading of time.
